For many businesses, intellectual property (IP) will be one of their most valuable assets accounting for as much as 70% of a business’ value. As such, understanding and protecting IP can be a valuable route to growth for a business.
Businesses create and use IP all the time, perhaps without realising it. Whether it is the name of the company, branded products, website or even marketing materials, the value of IP can far outweigh the value of physical assets.
Boost and the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) are hosting a half-day workshop for Lancashire business owners and advisors about intellectual property on Thursday 12th October at the Globe Centre in Accrington (BB5 0RE). The interactive and engaging workshop will run from 9.00am to 1.00pm and will give participants a good overview of IP and how it can impact on businesses of all sizes. It will be delivered by Dave Hopkins, Business Engagement Manager for the IPO.
As well as understanding what IP is, the session will look at protecting IP with trade marks, patents and copyright.
Who is it for?
This workshop has been designed for a wide range of stakeholders including small and medium sized businesses, advisors and a variety of professional bodies.
