Health & Safety is the number one priority of Siemens and others who operate in this challenging industry. This session will provide you with a thorough understanding of requirements in the industry from both an onshore and offshore perspective ensuring that your organisation is prepared to confidently engage with current and future customers in the sector. The principles and practices discussed in this workshop will be applicable to the wider Marine, Industrial and Offshore sectors.

Mark O'Reilly (THMA)
Mark is a seasoned Industrialist with over twenty-five years’ experience in the Industrial/Engineering sector with significant UK and International expertise of Strategy, Business Development, Marketing and Export. Mark’s focus in the past 5 years has been on the Marine and Renewables industries seeking opportunities in Offshore Wind and endeavouring to involve local and regional companies in the supply chain. Mark is a manufacturing evangelist, advocate of renewable energy and passionate about collaborative working.
Nick Allen (Fleet Manager at RIX Sea Shuttle)
A Master Mariner, having sailed with P&O Nedlloyd and Maersk Line with their container divisions for 12 years as a senior deck officer world wide, Nick has worked ashore for Rix for approx. 4 years, starting as a Marine Superintendent until taking the position as Fleet Manager.
With experience of diverse areas of Marine Operations such as large scale repairs, maintenance, survey and inspection work, along with office based management of the fleet, including sale, purchase and registration of vessels. Nick have also written the Safety Management System for Rix Shipping covering all vessel types, giving accreditation to ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 for the management of the fleet.
Chris Holden (Offshore Operations and Maintenance Manager at RES Offshore)
RES Offshore is part of the RES Group and provides integrated development, engineering, construction and O&M services for offshore renewable energy projects.Their technical and engineering capabilities cover all the elements of a project including wind modelling, instrumentation, environmental issues, GIS, cables, turbines, foundations, electrical systems and grid. RES have provided support to Centrica on both Lynn & Inner Dowsing and also Lincs windfarms. They have provided O&M support to Centrica since 2009 and still have employees embedded in the day-today operations of those wind farms.
