The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) is exclusively inviting you to attend an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Sector Roundtable meeting at 2.00 pm on Friday 18 May at Loughborough University to help shape our Local Industrial Strategy.
Last year HM Government launched its Industrial Strategy which committed to developing local strategies for places across England. The first three areas (Greater Manchester, West Midlands and Oxford/Cambridge Arc) have been invited by government to develop a LIS. www.gov.uk/industrial-strategy-building-a-britain-fit-for-the-future
We need Leicester & Leicestershire to be in the next wave of areas and the LLEP Board has agreed the attached framework for our strategy.
The aim of this roundtable is to ensure that local industry leads the development of our strategy and agrees the key challenges, opportunities, priorities and asks of Government that should be included. If we are successful in lobbying Government for our strategy this could result in more devolved powers and funding to support our local economy and these sectors.
Should you be unable to attend personally, I would welcome an alternative representative from your organisation. Please do share this invitation with any other businesses in your network who you think would like to be involved and contribute.
I hope that you will be able to join us for these important discussions.
Please note that this is a free event and places are limited to 20 businesses on a first come basis. The deadline for registering is 4 May.
