When it comes to running a business, the ability to understand and utilise the information contained within its financial statements is a valuable asset. Analysis of previous year’s figures
gives an insight into the financial performance of the business, and provides essential information which can be utilised to make a business more resilient, set growth targets and plan forecasts.
The first session of this workshop will look at the core elements of the financial statements, defining and examining the relationship between them. Session two will look at financial ratios, how we can use them to provide essential financial information, and how in turn this enables us to evaluate past, monitor current and plan future business performance. Finally we will utilise this information to analyse a set of accounts, and a company credit report.
The workshop is suitable for business owners and managers with some basic knowledge, who need to gain a more in depth understanding of the financial aspect of the business. It will also be of particular use for businesses considering applying for external finance or looking for investment.
