In the
aftermath of securing the Wakefield BID YES VOTE. People’s Perceptions of
Wakefield’s city centre are changing with the evening economy leading the way
in investment, employment and passion. For years Wakefield has been known as
the poor relation to Leeds famous for its Westgate run (but now tired but still
famous) or Shaky Wakey and Wakefield evening economy businesses are changing
that!
Our evening
economy however is changing those perceptions, with recent investments into
multiple bars and more microbrewery’s opening their own high quality bars
creating a very niche offering!
Join us at the
Establishment for July’s Bondholder first Friday, where we will hear from the
recent investors in Wakefield’s very first Jolly Tap from the Jolly
Boys Brewery. Barnsley based microbrewery that have seen Wakefield as
an opportunity to flourish and bring their business to the next level and join
our thriving evening economy.
We will also
hear from Billy Muirhead, Director of the Establishment, who has
transformed the Former Buzz bar attached to unity works into ‘The
Establishment’ it is today. Bringing a massive £400,000 investment into
bringing a fresh and new offering to the alive after 5 scene.
We will also
hear from the Wakefield BID team, on their aims to achieve purple flag
status, how that will support the evening economy and attract even more foot
fall into the area and creating far longer dwell time!
As always
first Fridays will be offering fantastic networking opportunities, Breakfast
and in addition to compliment the venue – some Mocktails will also be available
to try as a Friday morning treat!
WHEN & WHERE? 8:45 am – 11:00 am @The Establishment,
Westgate
