Space City is set to launch – find out what this means for Leicester
The official launch of Space City Leicester will introduce you to the UK’s definitive cluster dedicated to space research, production, manufacture and development. Space City is also a fantastic location for non-space related knowledge economy businesses, those working towards decarbonisation, innovative start-ups and established businesses looking for grow on space.
The event will begin at 8:00 am with a business networking breakfast, where you will meet the exciting space, technology and innovative businesses already located at Space City. Breakfast rolls, tea, coffee and juice will be served whilst you chat with like-minded businesses.
The event will include speeches from:
- Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby
- National Government representatives
- The University of Leicester
- Businesses who will talk about the benefits of being located at Space City
Space City is part of the Loughborough and Leicester Science and Innovation Enterprise Zone.
You will hear all about the exciting plans to make Leicester a key part of the UK’s Space Spine, and a leading location for the research and development of space and space-related technologies.
Space City includes the science and innovation hub Space Park Leicester and the flexible working space and high-tech business incubator facilities at Dock and Dock 2.
Workspace will be expanded in the near future to include Dock 3 innovation workspace and newer industrial and business incubator facilities at Abbey Court, creating one of the largest and most connected Enterprise Zones for space-related activities in the UK.
The event will conclude at 10:00 am followed by a photo call and media interviews.
