Dorset Gateway, in partnership with Bournemouth University and BCP Council, is inviting you to an event showcasing some of Dorset’s brightest female-led businesses on International Women’s Day, 8th March, 2022.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Kelly Butler, Co-Founder & Agency Director at Podcast Labs
- Gina Felce, Chief Operating Officer & Co-founder at Talewind
- Sophie Parsons, Director - Aetha Design Studio
- Emma Worrollo, Influencer, content creator and writer at Playful Den
- Dr Lois Farquharson, Executive Dean at Bournemouth University’s Business School
As well as hearing from inspirational female business leaders, you will also hear about funding opportunities and wider business support on offer to new and growing businesses in Dorset. This includes Dorset Growth Hub’s range of training, workshops and small grants as well as a new grant programme funded by NatWest – part of the bank’s longstanding commitment to support female enterprise in the UK and Ireland.
Event outline
- 10:00: Arrival and informal networking: tea, coffee and pastries
- 10:15: Female entrepreneurship in Dorset
- 10:20: Hear from the female entrepreneurs: short accounts of what inspired them to go into business
- 10:50: Panel Discussion with the entrepreneurs: hosted by Dr Lois Farquharson, Executive Dean at Bournemouth University’s Business School
- 11:30: Support for new businesses and entrepreneurs in Dorset
- 11:45: Close and informal networking
Whilst the event is aimed to support and inspire women who have started or are considering starting their own business, it is open to everyone.
We encourage people to make use of public transport, walk or cycle where possible. However, there will be some limited parking available but will be issued on a on a ‘first-come’ basis.
