Our March Southend Business Partnership Briefing on the 21st March 2019 is being hosted at the Radisson Park Inn and will start promptly at 8.30am. Registration and refreshments are available from 7.30am, giving you an opportunity to network and visit the market place where we have a range of service providers who are able to provide information and guidance on business support, grants, business compliance, procurement and business rates. The event will finish at 10.00am but there will be further opportunity to network after the presentations.
The theme of the event will be "The Thames Estuary - A Business Gateway to Growth" and we have the following speakers lined up: Simon Harper (Learning and Development Manager) from the Port of Tilbury, Alistair Gale (Corporate Affairs Director) the Port of London Authority and Colette Bailey (Artistic Director) of Metal who is part of a successful estuary-wide partnership bid to the Cultural Development Fund to progress the Thames Estuary Production Corridor. Part of the funding is for the Estuary 2020, a major arts festival planned for the Autumn of 2020. Our concluding speaker will be Ali Griffin the Chief Executive of Southend on Sea Borough Council who will provide a brief update on the work that is currently underway and how Southend is linking with the developments on the Estuary as part of the Southend 2050 ambitions and outcomes.
It should be a really interesting briefing with the usual marketplace offering information to businesses on support and funding for growth as well as information and advice. The teams from Trading standards, Procurement and Business rates will also be on hand to provide practical guidance on topics such as information about the new retail rates relief that businesses can claim this year and how to become a council supplier.
These meetings are a great opportunity to meet with other local businesses to network, to gather information that could support your business growth and to have the opportunity to express your thoughts on what Southend needs in order to enable businesses to thrive
