Cyber Awareness for Businesses - back by popular demand!
It’s
really important to recognise that, statistically, cybercrime and fraud now
pose a greater risk than physical crime. All businesses, from sole-traders
right up to multi-nationals, need to plan for when, not if, a cyber-attack
occurs. Businesses can be targeted randomly, but the good news is that
with awareness training you can protect yourselves and your business.
This
workshop will give you a NON-TECH overview on Cyber Awareness. Sam Hancock, an
experienced Police Cyber Protect Officer, will cover areas that you need to be
aware of and a number of measures you can take to help protect yourself and
your businesses. The session will cover:
- Device
safety/protection
- Passwords
- Protecting
your Data & Personal information
- Risks
of free or public Wi-Fi
- Ransomware
& Backups
- Phishing
- Sextortion
- Current
Trends affecting businesses
- Intro
to National Cyber Security Centre resources for SMEs
- Benefits
of CiSP and Cyber Essentials amongst other areas
Sam has
worked in Crime Prevention for the Police since 2003, the last two and a half
years with Leicestershire Police as their Cyber Protect Officer. She is
passionate about raising awareness of Cyber Crime and what we can all do to
protect ourselves.
