The UK Government has set a target to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. It has also enshrined this in law to emphasise the critical nature of reducing the world’s harmful CO2 emissions to help address the Climate Crisis. We all have our part to play – at home and at work. This session will focus on how to introduce small-scale sources of renewable energy into your business eg solar panels, wind power etc.

13:00: Webinar opens with short welcome from Business Gateway
13:05: Andy Whyle – Introductory presentation. Andy is a Sustainability specialist and Circular Economy Practitioner FIEMA. He helps businesses to develop their sustainability strategies and improve business performance while reducing environmental impact.
13:25: Rob Leeson – Green BELLE and renewables. Rob will explain how the Green BELLE grant can be used to transition from ‘traditional’ lighting, heating and energy sources, to greener alternatives using the Green BELLE grant available to Leicestershire businesses.
13:55: Mark Frankham – A Solar PV business case study: Mark is from Leicestershire-based Summit Engineering
14:10: Edward Milner – A Biomass business case study: Ed is from Milner Forestry based in the New Forest. His company currently supplies Leicestershire County Council and a local school with biomass for heating.
