Southend - Enabling Business Growth
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council would like to invite businesses to "Southend - Enabling Business Growth" on Friday 6th December from 8:30am to11:30am.
The purpose of the event will be to discuss with businesses the services available that can help their businesses. We will start with networking and a marketplace where businesses will be able to see a range of services offered by the council and ask any questions you have. This will be followed by some short presentations from:
1. Business Rates - the team are able to support businesses both before the purchase of a property and after with any enquiries. They can also help businesses to access rate relief.
2. Regulatory Services including Trading Standards and Environmental Health - The team are keen to work with your business to enable and support compliance. Finding out more about what the requirements are on businesses and what licences are required will help you to offer a safe and successful business.
3. Planning - The team offer a pre- application support service and will also be providing information and advice on the process and the best way of approaching any new planning applications.
The presentations will be followed by some round table discussions with representatives from these services, so businesses will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about specific business issues or opportunities.
This is intended to be an informal event where businesses can gain information to help them grow and develop their businesses. We will also be gathering information from businesses about how we can work more effectively in the future to grow the business sector and productivity across the Borough.
We look forward to seeing you on the 6th and if you have any specific questions please send them through to economicd@southend.gov.uk before the event so we can ensure we have the right people available to answer them.
Refreshment will be served on arrival.
