Thursday 10th September (8.30am till 10am) sees us holding our first virtual meeting with the theme being “Clean Growth” as we look to reboot our economy. We hope that this virtual event will still attract and inspire you to virtually attend.
Keynote speaker organisations will be as follows:-
Ipeco – founded locally in 1960’s is now a world leader in commercial and military aircraft crew seating and executive jet passenger seating, being a major employer for our town trading internationally and now acquiring a new build facility of some 122,000 sq ft, within the new Airport Business Park. After much research IPECO have been able to incorporate some of the latest environmentally friendly processes and technology as well as creating a very different working experience. Steve McKinlay will share with us a glimpse of the new IPECO site and the changes they have implemented.
Carbon Trust – was established in 2001 and operates globally and has a stated mission to accelerate the move to a sustainable, low carbon economy by helping businesses, governments and organisations across the globe to reduce carbon emissions and increase resource efficiency. Tiphaine Aries will discuss the changes that businesses need to start to embrace and the support available to do it.
LoCASE – Gary Crooks confirms that with up to £500k of further grant funding available for SME’s looking at “green” projects or LCEGS firms ( low carbon and environmental goods businesses) seeking grant funding for business development purposes, grant funding can fund upto 40% of the cost of these business improvement measures which can also reduce energy consumption.
Southend on Sea Borough Council – Cllr Carole Mulroney, cabinet member responsible for Environment and Planning will share both the aspirations for the Borough and the changes that are being made to improve Southend for all our residents
