February First Friday – A Bondholder and Cognitiv Collaboration….
Christine Bellamy from the BBC is coming over to Wakefield
District to talk to us, and as Head of Business Operations, BBC Digital, News,
Sport, Children's & Homepage she’ll have lots to say that you’ll want to
hear.
The BBC's move to Salford, which is reported to have boosted
the UK economy by £277m in just one year, demonstrates the huge, positive
impact the organisation could have by working closer with the North.
Experts say the BBC’s move has removed barriers to
collaboration for small, independent digital agencies and has improved the
output of firms working with the corporation along with a ‘greater flow of
creative industry talent to the area’.
“We’re making progress on all our aims for the move,
which were to better serve northern audiences, create a world class media
talent pool in the north, create an economic boost for the region and realise
financial benefits for the BBC” Helen Boaden, director of BBC Radio
Chaired by Adrian Spawforth, Wakefield Bondholders Chair,
the event will also feature an update from Kelly Smith, and the usual excellent
networking and a breakfast of hot sandwiches, pastries and fruit.
Bondholder
first Friday’s continue to be a must attend event for local businesses with
ambition and a passion for Wakefield
