Local Government shares the collective national ambition to build one million new homes by the end of this Parliament which will only be achieved with strong national and local leadership. Latest house building figures are encouraging, but there is a long way to go.
As leaders in the public sector you play a pivotal role in helping provide strong leadership, collaborative working and longer-term certainty for places and the people that live there.
The LGA Housing Commission was established to help councils deliver their ambition for places, but what does this mean for the North?
With a keynote speech from Lord Kerslake, you are invited to join us to hear about the findings of the report from Eamon Lally, LGA Principal Policy Adviser. Dilys Jones, HCA’s Head of Home Ownership and Supply will be speaking about the role the HCA will have in helping us all deliver on this agenda.
Peter Box CBE, Leader of Wakefield Council and Chair of West Yorkshire Combined Authority, will talk about the authority’s and WYCAS’s aspirations, ambitions and challenges as they aim to meet their target of delivering over 10,000 new homes each year.
This event is free to members of the public sector, private sectors delegate are welcome to attend but there ill be an £85 delegate charge.
