With a passion for food driving his progression from pot-wash
to chocolate pioneer, qualified Chef, award-winning Chocolatier and owner of
Coeur de Xocolat, David Greenwood-Haigh, will explain how his discerning palate
and shrewd business acumen have seen his Pontefract business propelled into
boardrooms across the globe when he takes to the stage at Wakefield Bondholders
first Friday – the district’s leading
monthly networking event.
Offering a chocolatier-for-hire service, David’s business has
progressed at an impressive rate, and with big name businesses from across the
globe now knocking on his door for the innovative chocolate-based team building
and tasting sessions, the future is bright for the proud Yorkshireman.
David comments: “I’ve been delighted with the success that we
have achieved, particularly with the corporate side of the business.
“I’ve found businesses to be incredibly receptive to these
sessions which aren’t your typical team building or corporate event, and I’m
looking forward to sharing more about our services and business journey at the
event. If you’re lucky I might even bring a taster or two along with me!”
Ian Wainwright of Wakefield Bondholders, adds: “As an
organisation which champions businesses from across the district, it is always
great to hear from local people who have achieved their own successes; and with
David’s business offering something so unique, I’m sure that we will be in for
a treat in more ways than one!”
If securing his own Great Taste Gold and Deliciously
Yorkshire Taste Awards weren’t enough, David’s expert knowledge which has been
gained from over 40 years of experience in the food industry including a
leading sales role with Divine Chocolate, has led to his selection as a judge
for the Great Taste Awards as well as the International Chocolate and Academy
of Chocolate Awards.
Further adding to the line-up at the event will be Chief
Executive of WDH, Kevin Dodd, who will explain how the organisation, one of the
largest of its kind in Yorkshire, manage over 44,000 local properties whilst
providing innovative support for local communities.
The first Friday event,
which will also feature networking opportunities alongside a breakfast of hot sandwiches,
pastries and fruit, costs £10 and will take place on 5th May, 8.30-11.00am
at Wakefield District Housing, Merefield House, Whistler Drive, Castleford,
West Yorkshire, WF10 5HX. Free parking is provided.
