Cyber-crime is becoming one of the biggest risks facing businesses today and small businesses are often the easiest target.
Most attacks don’t happen because a company is famous or high profile. They happen because someone clicked the wrong link, opened a fake invoice, or didn’t realise their systems were vulnerable.
Join us for a practical and easy-to-understand cyber security session designed for businesses of all sizes, from start-ups and growing companies to established organisations. This is not a technical IT seminar. It’s a straightforward event focused on helping business owners understand the real risks, the common mistakes companies make, and the simple steps that can help protect your business, staff and customers.
During this three-hour event, we’ll cover:

The real-world impact of phishing, scams and ransomware attacks
Why more businesses are being targeted through suppliers and emails
The financial and reputational risks of getting it wrong
New cyber laws and responsibilities businesses need to be aware of

You’ll leave with practical advice, a clearer understanding of where your business may be exposed, and guidance on the next steps that may be right for your organisation - whether that’s basic cyber awareness or recognised certifications such as Cyber Essentials.
Refreshments and networking will follow the event, giving you the chance to connect with other local businesses and continue the conversation in a relaxed setting.

These images may be used in social media, in printed and electronic promotion of our services and events and shared with our delivery partners (HEY Growth Hub and Invest Hull) for similar promotional purposes.
The images will be stored electronically on Council networks and may also be securely shared with our partners. All stored images will be reviewed annually to ensure they remain relevant and appropriate. Under the Data Protection Act 2018 / UK GDPR 2018, we require your consent to use your personal image for these purposes. If you do not wish to consent, please advise your Business Support Representative before the session starts.
These images will not be used for anything which may be viewed as negative in tone or that may cause offence, embarrassment, or distress. Images may also be used to validate that the session or support took place under our UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) requirements. These validation images will not be available to the general public but will be retained until at least 2035.
