Register to attend online
Use this link to book to attend the conference virtually as we want all our invitees to feel comfortable accessing the conference. This will cover the main body of the conference but the workshops won't be available.
We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, receiving advice from our Public Health team. In the event that advice changes or local and national restrictions change, we may switch to holding the whole conference online via Zoom. If this is the case we will provide attendees with the appropriate information beforehand.
Inclusive Economy Conference
West Cheshire has a relatively prosperous economy worth over £10.5 billion each year, but not everyone is benefitting from this. We have large gaps in levels of social mobility, levels of poverty and life expectancy. We also have a climate emergency to address. The Council wants to work with businesses, residents and partners to help build a thriving local economy that works for everyone, ensuring that all our residents, business and places can thrive whilst creating a borough fit for future generations.
This conference will be a key opportunity to feed views into the emerging Inclusive Economy strategy and identify how we can all play our part in creating a thriving economy in west Cheshire that works for everyone, now and in the future.
We’ll hear discussion on west Cheshire's economy and emerging ideas on how we can all play our part and make it "greener, fairer and stronger."
Speakers include:
• Sarah Longlands, Chief Executive of the Centre for Local Economic Strategies
Sarah will discuss the principles of an inclusive economy and how they align to a thriving economic model.
• Gareth Hart, Chair of Plymouth Inclusive Growth Group
Gareth is the founder and director of Iridescent Ideas. Gareth will demonstrate how Plymouth integrated inclusive growth into the policies of businesses and organisations across the city and the lessons learned.
